What chemicals does our utility district add to the water?
Only chemicals that are approved by the National Safety Foundation for treatment of drinking water. We only chlorinate the water when we do work on the system or there is a break in a water line.
My water tastes, looks, and smells funny. Is it safe to drink?
We take pride in our water quality and taste. The City of Kooskia was awarded with the best tasting water in the State of Idaho in 2018. Our water comes from two wells and is of such high quality that we do not have to disinfect it with chlorine or other chemicals daily. Instead we flush hydrants on a regular basis to keep the water fresh in all lines. With all that if you do get an oder to your water or have any other problems please contact the water department at 926-4751 and they will come out to investigate the issue.
